ASK For Your Life Program Coordinator - Part Time

ASK for Your Life Campaign is being developed to promote racial equality in healthcare.

ASK for Your Life is a program of the Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy Healthcare Equality Project.  This program raises awareness about racial disparities in healthcare and encourages African-Americans to get involved and partner with their healthcare team for better outcomes.

The Program Coordinator will develop and oversee the ASK for Your Life program. Responsibilities including building and maintaining a database of community partners and places where education related to the ASK for Your Life program can be provided, and speaking at community programs about ASK for Your Life. She or he will also monitor and report outcomes of participation through evaluations, followup calls and e-mails. The Coordinator will deliver monthly reports.  Flexibility in schedule is needed and may include weekdays, evenings and weekends. Own transportation.  Some work may be done remotely.

Access to and knowledge of Long Island’s African-American residents, programs and leadership is helpful. Other tasks and related facts:

  • This position will initially require five to ten hours per week.
  • Assist in or manage fundraising campaigns related to ASK for Your Life.
  • Phone calls and meetings with other team members.
  • Represent ASK for Your Life and Pulse CPSEA at meetings of potential partners or sponsors.
  • Keep records of all contacts and potential contacts.
  • Do community education and/or training.
  • Keep records of training outcomes.
  • Write articles about project for newsletter and local press.


Skills:

  • Computer: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • Pleasant telephone manner.
  • Record keeping of program and outcomes.
  • Measuring outcomes.
  • Writing reports.
  • Candidate should be comfortable speaking to groups.


All staff and volunteers are expected to become acquainted with the work of Pulse CPSEA through the website, YouTube videos, literature and participation in activities during work hours.
